What the treatment involves
The first visit is a consultation where Goda assesses your skin and hair. During treatment a very fine probe slides into the natural opening of the follicle, a brief current damages the growth cells, and the hair is lifted out with tweezers.
Who it suits
Women bothered by single or many hairs on the chin, upper lip or cheeks — of any colour: dark, light, grey or red. If hair has started increasing quickly, it is worth talking to a doctor first.
What it feels like
Most people feel a brief tingle or warmth at each hair. Sensitivity depends on the area and the person; a numbing cream can be used if needed.
How long until you see the result
Hair grows in cycles, so several visits are needed. The full result usually takes 12–24 months of regular visits, depending on the area, hormones, hair thickness and how regularly you come.
- A very fine probe slides into the natural opening of the follicle beside the hair — the skin is not pierced.
- A small current at the base of the follicle damages the growth cells.
- The treated hair is lifted out easily with tweezers.

Frequently asked
Is electrolysis permanent?
Yes — electrolysis is officially recognised as a permanent hair removal method, because it destroys the hair follicle. Several visits are still needed, and hormonal changes can later trigger new hair growth.
Does electrolysis work on light, grey and red hair?
Yes. Electrolysis works through the follicle, not the hair pigment, so it suits hair of any colour, including fine facial hair.
Does electrolysis hurt?
Most people feel a brief tingle or warmth at each hair. Sensitivity depends on the area and the person; a numbing cream can be used if needed.
How many sessions will I need, and how long will it take?
The full result usually takes 12–24 months of regular visits, depending on the area, hormones, hair thickness and regularity.
Can the hair grow back?
A destroyed follicle does not grow hair again. Hormones can, however, trigger new hairs elsewhere, so extra visits are sometimes needed.
